A Year of Achievement
As we begin an exciting new academic year, we are proud to reflect on the exceptional achievements of our pupils during the 2025-2026 academic year. These results are a testament to the hard work, determination, and resilience of our children, supported every step of the way by our dedicated staff and families.
Our Early Years pupils achieved a fantastic 79% Good Level of Development, placing us above the national average and in the 74th percentile nationally. This represented an impressive 22% improvement on the previous year, highlighting the strong foundations being built from the very start of each child's educational journey.
In phonics, our pupils made remarkable progress. 73% of Year 1 pupils passed the Phonics Screening Check, while by the end of Year 2 an outstanding 93% of pupils had reached the expected standard, placing the school in the 93rd percentile nationally.
Year 4 pupils also demonstrated exceptional mathematical fluency in the Multiplication Tables Check, with 86% achieving full marks (25/25). Our average score of 23.2 out of 25 placed us in the 99th percentile nationally, making Firs Primary School one of the highest-performing schools in the country for multiplication facts.
At Key Stage 2, pupils achieved results above national averages in four out of five subjects:
- Reading: 80%
- Writing: 76%
- Mathematics: 75%
- GPS (Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling): 80%
- Reading, Writing and Mathematics Combined: 71%
These outcomes reflect the commitment of our entire school community to raising aspirations, building futures, and empowering communities.
While we are incredibly proud of last year's successes, we see them as a stepping stone rather than a finishing line. This academic year, we are determined to be bigger and better than ever before. We will continue to strengthen teaching and learning, provide enriching opportunities for all pupils, and ensure every child can achieve their full potential.
With new initiatives, exciting learning experiences, and the same unwavering commitment to excellence, we look forward to another year of growth, achievement, and success across the school.
A huge thank you to all our pupils, staff, parents, and carers whose dedication made these fantastic results possible. We cannot wait to see what we can achieve together this year!
Stronger Outcomes. Brighter Futures.
