West Midlands Fire Service visit Firs

Today, West Midlands Fire Service visited Firs.  

Reception Saplings were able to talk to the fire fighters, see the fire engine and find out about the important role of people who help us.

Year 4 met the fire fighters and worked through a programme of fire safety, road safety and water safety, designed especially for Year 4 pupils.  The children discussed a range of scenarios including the importance of smoke alarms in the home, who to contact in an emergency and avoiding distractions when in a car. 

All of the sessions were incredibly informative and support the children in our safeguarding curriculum.
