Rock-Up – Building Resilience and Teamwork

As part of our commitment to developing pupils’ character and preparing them for life beyond primary school, our Year 6 pupils took part in a visit to Rock-Up indoor climbing centre in Birmingham.
This experience was carefully chosen to build key personal development attributes such as resilience, confidence, perseverance, and teamwork. Pupils were encouraged to step out of their comfort zones, set personal goals, and support one another—demonstrating empathy and encouragement throughout.
By challenging themselves both physically and mentally, children strengthened their sense of self-belief and learnt the value of collaboration and determination—essential qualities that contribute to their wider personal growth and readiness for secondary education.
