Science Sparks Curiosity at Firs!

This Tuesday, we had an exciting and inspiring day at Firs as we welcomed a visiting scientist to our school. Throughout the day, classes took part in workshops exploring the science of sound. 
Pupils learned how vibrations create sound, which travels in waves to the ear. There, it is transformed into vibrations of the eardrum, sending electrical signals to the brain —where they are interpreted as sound. 
 
The scientist was extremely impressed with the children’s behaviour, enthusiasm, and impeccable manners. It was a fantastic day of learning and discovery for everyone involved!
